ONE BEXLEY INTERNSHIP
SUMMER 2025
One Bexley is seeking thoughtful, engaged Bexley teenagers who care about community, inclusiveness, and social change to participate in a unique summer internship opportunity with One Bexley, a community-based group dedicated to fostering a more welcoming and inclusive Bexley. One Bexley interns will design meaningful summer projects that promote inclusion, awareness, and community education. These internships are designed to be flexible, student-led, and impactful, with guidance from our community partners. We generally expect students to spend somewhere in the range of 2-5 hours per week throughout the summer, but timing will be flexible and suited to students’ schedules.

Potential Intern Activities:

Build & Support a Community Resource Project: Help build, curate and launch a digital resource for individuals interested in learning more about One Bexley through primary and secondary research. Help Bexley resident Kumi Walker in organizing and completing a One Bexley Education Resource Library with a goal of creating a robust guide for community members of all ages.

Student Ambassadors at Bexley Events: Collaborate with One Bexley Community Coordinator La Baker to represent One Bexley at community events throughout the summer, helping engage with residents and visitors and engage them with opportunities to support the One Bexley mission.

“One Bexley Minute" Campaign Effectiveness and Additional Student Content: Campaign
Collaborate with Bexley resident Steve Shapiro to:-
Identify and execute ways to increase One Bexley Minute statistics (Data tracking - opens, reads, link clicks, responses) with key insights and analysis on “what’s going well, not going well”

Assist in development of One Bexley Minute Summer Calendar

One Bexley Minute Student content (Participate in and drive higher adoption amongst students and parents)

Help create and promote short-form educational content to increase student and parent engagement

One Bexley Public Face: Collaborate with Bexley resident Jonathan Baker to amplify One Bexley’s message.

Identify promotional networks and opportunities

Establish a timeline with corresponding intermediate goals

Consider various mechanisms (e.g., yard signs, car magnets, etc) that could be used to achieve such goals

Creative Brand Support: Collaborate with Megan Meyer, Bexley Director of Administration and Development, to contribute ideas and feedback on One Bexley’s evolving branding and outreach efforts, with a goal of consistent quality engagement across the community around the One Bexley initiative.
